\"My-dream\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Miho Aida (she\/they), originally from Tokyo, is the founder of an environmental media project called \u201cIf She Can Do It, You Can Too: Empowering Women Through Outdoor Role Models.<\/a>\u201d By producing videos and films of dynamic outdoor women of color, Miho hopes for those who identify as girls and women to have role models who look, sound, and live like them so that they know what outdoor careers, adventures, and leadership opportunities are possible.<\/p>\n

In collaboration with the Gwich\u2019in Steering Committee, the Sierra Club, and Patagonia, Miho has been taking her award-winning film, The Sacred Place Where Life Begins: Gwich\u2019in Women Speak,<\/em> on bicycle film tours since 2014, riding over 3,000 miles across the country. Through the tour, she works to amplify the voice of Gwich\u2019in people calling for permanent protection of their sacred land from oil development in the Arctic. Miho advocates for outdoor adventures that are rooted in environmental activism in solidarity with some of the most marginalized communities. She is a featured athlete among the world\u2019s most adventurous women 2019 in Men\u2019s Journal<\/a>, as well as the recipient of the 2018 NOLS Alumni Achievement Award and the 2017 SHIFT Adventure Athlete Award, <\/a>which recognizes the adventure athlete of the year who best promotes conservation leadership in the United States.<\/p>\n

Miho is one of the 25 authors of a book:\u00a0We Are The Arctic<\/em><\/a>. In this book, she shares her<\/span>\u00a0essay: As the caribou go, so go the Gwich’in, <\/em>describing her experience with the Arctic Refuge through the lens of the Gwich’in women while working on the film.<\/p>\n

Miho\u2019s most recent day job with NatureBridge<\/a> as the Director of Equity and Inclusion\/Educator allowed her to catalyze change for NatureBridge to become a more equitable organization. She worked as a backpacking\/climbing guide for the Women of Color Wilderness Retreat in Yosemite with the Balanced Rock<\/a> and NOLS<\/a>. Miho\u00a0is an outdoor athlete<\/a>, workshop facilitator, consultant, and speaker. She is also a member of the In Solidarity Project<\/a>\u00a0and its\u00a0Outdoor Industry CEO Diversity Pledge<\/a> steering committee.<\/p>\n
