6/14/2023: Kennedy Meadows (At mile 704.4)

702 miles of desert walking from May 14th to June 13th, 2023. A total of 31 days (30 hiking days and 1 rest day) of absolutely amazing adventure through heat, intense sun, snow (yes, San Jacinto, remember?), river and stream crossings, crawling over and under fallen trees, wind storms, thunderstorms, hot springs, limited water, sacred springs, gorgeous wildflowers, beautiful desert sunrise and sunset, walking meditation and more. Incredible opportunity for spiritual practice and deep thinking. Immense gratitude for my ancestors, family, friends, trail angels and supporters.

As I was walking through the transition zone between the desert and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I realized that I am also transitioning to another chapter of my journey. I decided to skip the Sierra section to avoid the numerous raging river crossings and enormous amount of snow for safety. I am sad, disappointed and cried to temporarily leave the PCT because I am at the place where my body and spirit are well conditioned to stay out here to continue my spiritual practice. I know for some reason, the universe is asking me to skip ahead to the Northern California section and hike to Canada first. Once finished, then take the south bound trip from the Northern California to Kennedy Meadows. Even though it wasn’t what I planned, I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my adventure and how it unfolds.
