The southern section was steep and challenging. There are more down trees and tree roots on the trail as obstacles that require full attention when hiking. Many river crossings are without any bridges. The forest is silent most of the time without the chorus of song birds. I eat at least 100 a day!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is something about loons&#8217; calls that I love so much. They remind me of ancient time on the Earth, wakening the spirit of the Earth. They touch the primal part of my brain, bringing the feeling of nostalgia and aloneness. Their sound is almost like a lone wolf on the land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the last five days, I was able to spend three nights at ponds, listening to the sound of loons as I made dinner and fell asleep.
